Done and Done! My Associate Certificate in Marketing Management
I’m excited to announce I recently completed an Associate Certificate in Marketing Management (with a marketing communications focus) at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Over the past four years, I spent many evenings and weekends in class and many more hours reading and completing assignments.
For the most part, it was a great experience. I really enjoyed getting to know my fellow classmates and professors. (All of my professors were marketing professionals who still work in the field. It was great to get their real world perspective.)
For me, the greatest value was getting a broader context for the marketing communications work I do everyday. While I may never become an expert in public relations or paid search management, it certainly helps to know more about these fields, and how they fit into marketing more generally.
And after putting together so many marketing communications plans, I feel as though I could do it in my sleep.
What’s next? Well, a break from coursework is overdue. Instead, in my spare time, I plan to provide some pro bono marketing support to a few non-profit organizations.
